Jo Chandler wins award for climate writing

Jo Chandler has won the 2017 Quill for Best Feature for her story on Antarctic glaciers and climate change for The Monthly Magazine.

Her feature article 'The Totten Hots Up' explored one of the most complex and critical scientific questions of our time - what is happening to the antarctic ice? Judges praised her brilliant research and compelling account of the antarctic glaciers with strong descriptions of their crucial role in our climate.

Jo Chandler is a research convenor of MSSI Climate Transformations Cluster, and editor at the Centre for Advancing Journalism at the University of Melbourne. She is also the winner of the Walkley Foundation’s 2017 Freelance Journalist of the Year Award.
