In conjunction with the Springer Nature publishers, MSSI invites you to attend the Australian launch event for Nature Sustainability.

Launched in January 2018, the aim of the Nature Sustainability journal is to facilitate important cross-disciplinary dialogue around sustainability and narrow the gap between research and policy making to ensure the real-world impact of research.

Nature Sustainability is edited by Monica Contestabile, an environmental economist with previous experience as Senior Editor at Nature Climate Change and at WWF-UK, where she led research on sustainable consumption. Monica will be visiting Melbourne on the 17th of July to talk about this new title, the aims and scope of the journal, and publication guidelines.

In addition to advice from Monica, the following panel of sustainability researchers and policy-makers will highlight Australian success stories from the interface of policy and research.

  • Kath Rowley, Executive Director of the Climate Change Division in Victoria’s Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning
  • Professor Rebekah Brown, Director Monash Sustainable Development Institute, Monash University
  • Dr Robyn Schofield, Senior Lecturer for Climate System Science and Director of Environmental Science Hub, University of Melbourne
  • Scientia Professor Veena Sahajwalla, Director, Centre for Sustainable Materials Research and Technology (SMaRT) at UNSW

Please register to meet with the Chief Editor of Nature Sustainability and join us in the discussion of local and global sustainability issues.
