Kennedy Liti Mbeva is a Research Fellow (Cluster Coordination and Translation) at the Melbourne Sustainable Society Institute (MSSI). In May 2021, he submitted his PhD at the University of Melbourne, where his research project examined how states use international trade agreements to address environmental policy issues. Prior to commencing his doctoral studies, Kennedy has worked, studied and lived in three continents, thus adopting a broad and nuanced world view. His scholarly work has been acknowledged through prestigious awards, such as being awarded the Green Talents Fellowship. Kennedy’s other engagements include contributing to the IPCC Assessment Report 6 on climate change, international diplomacy by serving several times in his country's (Kenya) official delegation to the UN climate change negotiations and mentoring young change makers. In his spare time, he tries to improve his Jazz trumpet skills.
