Dr Stephanie Lavau is a Lecturer in Interdisciplinary Environmental Practice, in the Office for Environmental Programs and the School of Ecosystem and Forest Sciences, at the University of Melbourne. Stephanie’s research addresses social and cultural aspects of environmental management, biodiversity conservation, and environmental governance, in urban and rural contexts. In her research and teaching, she has a particular focus on knowledge practices, and the opportunities and challenges in working with different forms of environmental expertise. Stephanie is a member of the Melbourne Water Research Practice Partnership, leading research on community engagement in urban water management. Stephanie’s career has included roles in scientific research, science policy, and science communication for government and not-for-profit organisations.
