Professor Jim Falk is an Honorary Professorial Fellow at the Faculty of Architecture, Building & Planning, a Visiting Professor at the United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies in Yokohama, Japan, and Emeritus Professor at the University of Wollongong.
He served for 6 years as Foundation Director of the Australian Centre for Science, Innovation and Society over 2005-10 (prior to that being Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Victoria University). Prof Falk's PhD is in theoretical physics, but over the last 40 years he has specialised in the study of the nature, impact and management of science and technology in their social contexts.
His most recent research focuses on the evolution of governance, and policy issues associated with energy and climate change. He is currently researching the wide set of issues associated with geoengineering.
