Anna Rose

Anna Rose is an Australian author and environmentalist who is currently an Innovation Fellow for The Myer Foundation. She is the Australian Geographic Society’s Conservationist of the Year 2015.

Previously, she was the National Manager for Earth Hour with WWF-Australia. Over the past two years running Earth Hour she has increased the participation, awareness and impact of the iconic Australian-founded movement that is now celebrated in more than 172 countries around the world, with one in three Australians taking part.

As part of Earth Hour’s 2015 campaign focus on highlighting the impact of climate change on food, Anna created a world first cookbook Planet to Plate bringing together 52 celebrity chefs, 60 farmers and science content from the University of Melbourne. She is now involved in supporting a network of farmers passionate about tackling climate change.

Anna previously co-founded the Australian Youth Climate Coalition, a movement of over 120,000 young people, and was recently a finalist in the ACT Australian of the Year awards.

She is author of the book Madlands: A Journey to Change the Mind of a Climate Sceptic (MUP, 2012) and co-starred in the ABC documentary ‘I Can Change Your Mind on Climate Change’.

Anna previously convened the Vice-Chancellor’s course in Leadership & Influence at the Australian National University. The Sydney Morning Herald named her one of Sydney’s 100 most influential people, and she was named one of Cosmo magazine’s Top 30 Women under 30.
